Roberts Family and Flower the Zebra, Castle Dale, UT Family Photographer

If you’ve ever talked to me about where I grew-up, you will know that my eyes light up and my voice fills with emotion at the mention of Castle Dale. It is a place where dreams come true. This shoot is evidence of that fact. I wanted a zebra and POOF I got a zebra. Actually, there is a zebra ranch just down the street from my parents’ home. This particular zebra is named Flower and is quite famous. You may recognize her from the movie, We Bought a Zoo (yes, she has been in the presence of Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson).

This family was wonderful and you could feel the love that these boys have for their little sister. Thanks for being up for anything (including suspenders and bow ties)!

West Family, Castle Dale, UT Family Photographer

One of the reasons I love my home town is that you know where you came from. And it isn’t just because every one knows your name. You can literally touch where you came from. That is one of the reasons this session was so special. The momma from the West family was my neighbor growing up. This cabin where we took pictures was where her grandpa was raised with his 11 brothers and sisters. Now, many years later, her children dart in and out of the trees where her grandpa used to sleep in the summer. Amazing. And, I love it. Thanks West family, it was a pleasure.

Out of her whole binder of quotes, that’s the one Elizabeth chose to write on the wall. So appropriate. When you are as great and wonderful as Elizabeth, what’s not to be happy about? She radiates beauty. She is an accomplished pianist, scholar and friend. Her red hair compliments her spunky personality and I love her dearly.

Meet my sister-in-law. Yep, you have seen her before. These Gifford boys sure do know how to pick a wife (wink, wink). Alarie and Ryan came out to Arizona for a visit and we spent the day sewing and taking pictures, my two favorite things. These two are going to be the best parents for this baby boy. I can’t wait to meet him. June isn’t coming fast enough. Love you two!
